Homework for Jan. 11, 2011

I disagree. Except the fact that the country would be more peaceful and easy to control, the quality of life and the competition between each other would be in the lowest level. Citizen wouldn’t have the motivation to create something news which would make a society more modern and wealthy.
The Law would be:
1. Change your DNA and your children’s DNA after this law passes down immediately. Contact the government for more information. If you don’t do it, you will get death penalty immediately in any situation.
2. Any resistance or ideas against rule number 1 will be forbidden. Immediately get death penalty if disobey.
We can make laws that support the people with disadvantage like they will get better chance, education, or salary. In that way, we can push them up. We can also make laws that push the normal ones down like higher tax, harder to get in good university.
The life expectation or quality would decrease. We couldn’t stop that from happen but the citizen would accept it. Another problem was some citizens will disagree with the government and would have the ideas to go against the government. We could solve this with discipline and violence.
We could sure that someone or a group of people would come up and dominate others. A society can develop and stay together without a leader and discipline. We could know for sure that someone would organize and keep the society work well.
The first similarity was when Harrison stood up against the government and died. I always want to go against something I don’t like. And the result was always bad with some violence. The second similarity was when Hazel forgot her son was murdered on the TV right away. I also forget things easily.

November 2nd HW

1. The advertisements have a great effect on individual person or a company about how they spend money. Advertisements give the people access to new stuff that they don’t know and attract people to buy it. The more advertisement we see the more stuff we want to buy.
2. I think citizen don’t have enough information when they spend money on something. There are many people still buy what they like without ask if it’s sustainability or not. The government should take care of the issue and spread out the idea of sustainability through the country. Or, we teach the young adults about it in school. I mean every school.
3. Yes. We choose what to buy by advertisement too not just see it and buy it. The technique will attract us to buy it. We will want something that the celebrities have. Or they make some fancy stuff about the product and make us buy it.

Immigrate/Migrate Narrative

IMMIGRATION
Duc was a young guy at the age of 18 and he lived in Vietnam. In 1972, Duc immigrated to America because of the war that seemed endless between North and South Vietnam. Duc and his parents felt threatened by the war and they didn’t want to die by a B52 bomb drop from the sky on a beautiful morning. On a Sunday evening in the middle of summer, Duc’s parents decided to move to America and their relatives lived there would help them to do that.
About three months later, they arrived safely to America by sea and started their new life. Life in here was peaceful and everything seemed to flow really fast. In this environment, Duc could focus on his study of mechanic in his new university. His parents had comfortable job by help of their relatives and worked really hard to catch up with the urban life here. The population density was really high because it was a really busy city with a huge amount of people. Even though life in America was amazing, Duc still thought that he needed to return to Vietnam someday. He didn’t want to lose all of his culture since Vietnam was still his homeland, it was his responsibility to help it develops.

ALL HAIL ORANGINA!!!

Location: Orangina is a really small country located 6000 degrees North and 4800 degrees east. It’s really near 2 other countries which are Pepsi and Coca Cola. The distance between Orangina and Pepsi or Coca Cola is 600 kilometers. People in Orangina just need half a day on the Hyper Nitro Carbon Cano to get to Pepsi or Coca Cola. Other side of Orangina is cover with Heineken Sea.

Place: In the west of Orangina, there are Giant Orange Tree and Gaz Volcano. Giant Orange Tree is a really big tree that covers about 10% of Orangina. People lived near the tree are normal people or people from the factory. Orange is a really important ingredient for the country’s soft drink (unique from Pepsi and Coca Cola). The tree is in great protection with many soldier and plant scientist to keep it in the best mode all the time. The worker from the factory will harvest the tree everyday and take them to the factory. Gaz Mountain is also a really important part of Orangina. Gaz also an important ingredient for soft drink but it’s not really unique. Orangina exchanges with Pepsi and Coca Cola Gaz to gets Caffeine and Sugar. There is no one live here because they don’t want to blow up to the sky because of the gaz. There’s just worker from the factory live here. The capital of Orangina is Inox. It’s a really big and beautiful city. There are giant Orangina Soft Drink Bottles all for the place to decorate the city. People in here are really modern; not like people live in small village. They use new technology and do work that use high intelligent like bottle designer, flavor scientist, business, or maybe OPS (Orangina Professional Spy).
Region: People in Orangina had an orange skin and they always have a really positive altitude on everything. Most of the people in here are farmer because Orangina contain many river and soil so it’s really good for growing rice or crop. Orangina is a really hot country. There is not even snow in here. All of the time is warm or hot. But this climate able the farmer to grow crop all the year without any interruption cause of weather. The worst thing in Orangina is flood and storm. They appear in every village in Orangina. Even the capital had flood sometimes. The reasons are Orangina has so many rivers and the weather is so hot so rain usually appears.
Movement: There are the period when Pepsi broke the peace between 3 countries and conquered Coca Cola and Orangina. Many people from Pepsi came to Orangina to control and tortured people in there. Their way to torture are to make Orangina people drink diet soft drink and banned orange. Many people go insane and commit suicide because of the DIET PEPSI. Not for long, Zack Phan, former CEO of Orangina, and Mary Minnick, CEO of Coca Cola defeated Pepsi and Indra Novy, CEO of Pepsi, with a really powerful resistance.
Human Environment Interaction: Flood has killed 2 billion of people in Orangina in 5 years. In the village, people started to build a really big wall called The Great Wall to defend against the water. In every village or city, the government builds a really tall tower called Full House and people will go in there whenever floods come. Government also builds a really thick and big box underneath the ground 100 meters in every village or city. Orangina people can be safe in there during the Storm or Water Bomb. A biggest one is in Inox and it’s called Freedom Palace.
